John Carroll and I share a common interest in tractors (I write each month
for Tractor and Machinery) but it was only recently that he discovered
that I was a Land Rover freak as well. He suggested that I jot down my
Roving recollections and it was only when I started writing that I realised
how fundamentally Landies had affected my life for over forty years.
