What makes a good bus shelter?
You have probably stood at a bus stop before. Did you think about how it was designed?
You probably did not unless it was raining and the roof was leaking or if there was no bus timetable!
A bus shelter is a structure with a very specific purpose. It needs to:
- be a recognised place to wait for a specific vehicle
- provide information about routes and times
- provide protection from the weather
- provide safety from the road and other vehicles
- be a promotional tool, adverts etc
- have good visibility so you can see the vehicle arriving and be seen by others
