It records when drivers were first appointed to drive horse buses, when they joined and left the company, and remarks regarding their licences and reasons for leaving.

London Road Car Company was formed in 1881 operating horse buses and later motor buses in the metropolitan area. It pioneered the use of 'garden seats' in rows on upper bus decks and the use of the bell punch ticketing system. The company later became part of the London General Omnibus Company.
