The Trust was formed in 1983 to safeguard a unique collection of historic vehicles, which had been the property of the companies combined to form British Leyland in 1968. This was joined by a vast collection of priceless archive material including workshop manuals, handbooks, sales brochures, and business records.
The archive includes an extensive collection of photographic images illustrating the history of the motor industry, and an equally impressive collection of moving film.
